Wild Type Yoga
Wild Type Yoga is an invitation to slow down, tune inward, and reconnect with your body, your breath, your heart, and the living world around you.
Our yoga studio is not enclosed by walls.
It lives beneath the trees, along forest paths, and in quiet clearings of the Adirondack Park at Wild Type Acres.
At Wild Type Yoga, we honor yoga as a holistic practice - one that extends far beyond poses. Yoga is the integration of mind, body, and heart. It is breath, movement, awareness, rest, connection, and presence. These practices are beneficial to everyone, no matter your age, experience, or relationship with yoga.
Classes often begin with a gentle forest walk, allowing the nervous system to settle and the senses to awaken. We then practice yoga among the trees, supported by the rhythms of nature and the quiet wisdom of the forest. This outdoor setting naturally invites grounding, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection - both inward and outward.
When we take time to slow down and reconnect with ourselves in this way, the effects reach beyond the individual. A regulated nervous system, a grounded body, and a present mind change how we move through the world, how we listen, how we respond, how we relate to others.
Wild Type Yoga is for those seeking something slower, deeper, and more rooted. A space where you don’t need to perform, achieve, or become anything other than what you already are.
Circle of Mothers
Forest Yoga for Mothers
Circle of Mothers is a space for mothers to be held and supported by the forest, the community, and your own inner awareness.
Practicing yoga surrounded by trees offers a sense of steadiness and belonging that is difficult to replicate indoors. As we breathe, move, and rest in nature, we create space to reconnect with ourselves beneath the many roles we carry.
This kind of intentional pause has a ripple effect. When we feel more grounded and clearer, we tend to show up in our lives with greater presence, compassion, and care - not only for ourselves, but for our families and those around us.
Classes may include:
Gentle forest walks
Breathwork and mindful movement
Yoga postures rooted in awareness and intuition
Time for stillness, reflection, and rest
Fire, warm tea & cacao drinks, and simple nourishment
This offering invites restoration, reflection, and a quiet remembering of what it feels like to be connected.
Parent & Child Yoga (Ages 4–9)
Parent & Child Yoga is a shared experience of connection, movement, and presence in nature.
Classes begin with a forest walk, allowing caregivers and children to arrive together - noticing, exploring, and settling before transitioning into yoga. The yoga portion is playful, accessible, and rooted in connection rather than perfection.
Through shared breath, movement, and attention, caregivers and children practice being present with one another. These moments of attunement support not only individual regulation, but the relationship itself - creating patterns of connection that carry into daily life.
Together, we explore:
Breathing and body awareness
Yoga poses adapted for children
Playful movement and imagination
Cooperative and mindful experiences
Shared moments of calm and joy
These experiences plant quiet seeds - helping children learn how to pause, notice, and relate with awareness from an early age.
Wild Type Yoga also offers private, curated outdoor yoga experiences for small groups.
These mini retreats are designed as an intentional step out of everyday busyness and into presence - creating space to reset, reconnect, and return to life with greater clarity and ease.

The Heart of Wild Type Yoga
At its heart, Wild Type Yoga is about remembering that we are part of nature – not separate from it.
Through breath, movement, and presence in the forest, we create space to reconnect with ourselves and one another in a way that feels natural, grounded, and alive.
Testimonials
“There are experiences that stay with you and then there are the ones that shift something inside you. That is what today was
Led by my incredible sister, Jacalyn, this Circle of Mothers wasn’t just a gathering, it was a return to self. Held gently in the heart of the forest, each moment invited us to slow down, soften, and reconnect - with our bodies, with the earth, and with the quiet parts of ourselves that are so often drowned out by the noise of motherhood.
We moved. We were still. We released what needed to go and made space for what we want to grow. We sat in circle, in silence, in laughter. We made promises to ourselves, not just as mothers, but as women - to find joy and to honor it
The beauty was in the details, yes, but even more in the intention behind them. Every gesture felt like love made visible.
I left feeling clearer, lighter, and deeply grateful. If you ever get the chance to join a circle like this - do It is something you don’t even know you have been needing until you feel itIt all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”

“At Wild Type Learning you’ll typically find children enjoying outdoor education with Miss Jacalyn!
However yesterday, Jacalyn opened her homestead to Mothers and made sure we were pampered and taken care of. These four hours felt like an entire weekend retreat.
I was reminded to breathe, my body was reminded how I need to care for myself to care for my family, we grounded ourselves, we journaled and did yoga! Oh and drank Cacao!!
Just what I needed and what a beautiful time for mothers it was!”
